He previously wrote for National Journal, where he covered both of former President Trump’s impeachment trials, the confirmation of Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett, the crafting of multi-trillion-dollar coronavirus relief packages, Senate races, and governors’ races.
Zach’s work has been published by The Washington Post, The Atlantic, TIME Magazine, and USA Today, and he has offered on-air analysis on C-SPAN, Fox News, CBSN, and SiriusXM. His work has garnered multiple awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, including a Dateline Award for beat reporting for his coverage of Congress in 2020. Zach graduated with honors from American University, where he served as editor-in-chief of the student-run newspaper The Eagle. He was born and raised in New Jersey and lives in Silver Spring, MD with his wife and dog.
