The State of Federal Cloud

December 5, 2019 | 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Registration for this event is closed.

A year after the White House released updated guidance to promote the use of cloud computing, the Cloud Smart strategy, federal agencies are on track for unprecedented cloud spending in fiscal 2020. Based on current trends, civilian and defense agencies will spend a combined $7.1 billion on cloud infrastructure, platforms, software, and support services in fiscal 2020. Some agencies are shifting their computing needs from on-site data centers to commercial cloud services, while others are experimenting with managed IT as a service models. Further, agencies are adapting their procurement functions, security processes, and workforce priorities to take full advantage of the cloud.

Join Bloomberg Government Federal Market Analyst Chris Cornillie and Senior Defense Analyst Robert Levinson as they answer many of the top questions on the minds of federal contractors and government IT leaders, such as:

  • Which federal IT programs are migrating to the cloud? Which ones are up for consideration?
  • What kinds of cloud services are agencies buying? How much are agencies spending on cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and software as a service (SaaS)?
  • Which agencies are currently investing in cloud computing? Which ones are planning to invest in the cloud in the near future?
  • Which federal contractors are the biggest suppliers of cloud services to the federal government?
  • How will the government’s shift to the cloud impact small businesses?
