Webinar

Cyber Defense Acquisition and CMMC With DoD CISO Katie Arrington

April 16, 2020 | 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

The need for the government to prevent the persistent theft of U.S. intellectual property and secure the defense industrial base has forced the Department of Defense to propose enforceable and auditable cybersecurity standards. In total, about 300,000 large and small contractors will be subject to the cyber auditing and certification, which the department has dubbed the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).

Join Bloomberg Government and DOD’s Katie Arrington, chief information security officer with the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, for a discussion about how companies can prepare for the upcoming changes.

The webinar will address topics such as:

  • Impacts of the new authorization on contract competition at the Pentagon
  • How implementation plans and audit procedures will be facilitated
  • The five distinct certifications, or levels, of the CMMC, which range from baseline controls to sophisticated capabilities
  • How CMMC will change acquisition culture
