Lawmakers return from a two-week break with a full plate of work before Washington’s attention shifts to the midterm elections.

The Senate is back with its attention focused on debating President Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees. With a number of recent shakeups, the chamber will devote substantial time to considering nominees. Once the House returns, Republicans will plan to continue their effort to ease Dodd-Frank financial regulations.
