Mary Anne Marsh, a Democratic consultant in Massachusetts, discussed the state’s marquee race on the latest episode of Downballot Counts.
Marsh, who held senior roles on campaigns of former senators John Kerry and Ted Kennedy, said Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) provided a major boost to Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) by endearing the 74-year-old who’s been in Congress since the 1970s to young progressive activists.
Markey led Rep. Joe Kennedy III (D-Mass.) a 39-year-old political scion backed by Speaker Nancy Pelosi(D-Calif.), in polling heading into Tuesday’s primary.
