His work has garnered multiple awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, including a Dateline Award for beat reporting for his coverage of Congress in 2020. Zach graduated with honors from American University, where he served as editor-in-chief of the student-run newspaper The Eagle. He was born and raised in New Jersey and lives in Silver Spring, MD with his wife and dog.
