The knowledge-based services or professional services market, which covers the most expansive categories of spending such as engineering, marketing, management consulting, and other areas, grew by about $6.6 billion from fiscal 2017 to 2018.

In fiscal 2018, that growth was most beneficial to companies such as General Dynamics ($2.8 billion in obligations), Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corp. ($2.6 billion), and Boeing Co. ($2.5 billion), which are among the vendors that generated the most obligations on the General Services Administration’s Professional Services Schedule (PSS), GSA’s OASIS and OASIS Small Business, and the Navy’s SeaPort-e.
