Looking Back: RNC 2012 in Tampa

For those of you who were unable to join us in Tampa for the Republican National Convention last week, here are a few of our favorite moments from the event.

Aug. 28 (Bloomberg) — John Engler, president of the Business Roundtable and former Republican governor of Michigan, and Jose Abreu, director of the Miami-Dade Aviation Department, participate in a panel discussion on the U.S. economy and international trade. They speak at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, as part of the Bloomberg/2012 Tampa Host Committee Economic Development Series. Bloomberg’s Sanford Reback and Trish Regan also speak.

About Sanford Rebeck: Sandy has more than 20 years of policy, business and legal experience. As Assistant General Counsel of the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, he helped negotiate NAFTA as well as important agreements with Japan and the European Union. As Senior International Counsel at MCI, he served as the principal company advocate on international trade matters. Sandy also has extensive experience in the technology area, having served as Deputy General Counsel for Policy at UUNET, then the world’s largest Internet services provider. Sandy holds a B.A. in Political Science from Stanford University, a J.D. from Harvard Law School, a Masters degree from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and was a Fulbright Fellow at the Royal Institute of International Affairs in London.

They speak at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, as part of the Bloomberg/2012 Tampa Host Committee Economic Development Series. Bloomberg’s Michael Riley moderates the panel.

About the Host: Michael Riley is managing editor of Bloomberg Government. He was the editor and senior vice president of Congressional Quarterly. He created and launched allpolitics.com, a leading political Internet site founded by TIME magazine and CNN. Riley spent a Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University learning about digital technology. He had been a senior correspondent and bureau chief for TIME and spent much of a decade there covering national politics. He was also editor of The Roanoke (Va.) Times. Riley graduated with a B.A. in English from Wake Forest University and has a master’s in public administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School.
